Paris - Tribe Gathering

Paris Prema

Tribe Gathering 2024 will be held in Paris. I am honored to be teaching at this global satsang May 9th - 12th. Through the experience of satsang, we can tap into the wisdom and insights of others, and benefit from their perspectives, experiences, and expertise. This can expand our horizons, challenge our assumptions, and help us see things from a new and more enlightened perspective. Moreover, the bonds that we form through satsang can be transformative, fostering a sense of community, belonging, and shared purpose that can sustain us through the challenges of life. Ultimately, satsang is about creating a space where we can connect with others on a deeper level, share our journey, and support each other in becoming the best version of ourselves.

This event gives us the opportunity to be with each other and delight in our assosciation.

Schloss Elmau Residence

Martyna and Jules will be teaching daily classes for 8 days at Schloss Elmau. Schloss Elmau, a distinguished resort established over a century ago, has been a haven for celebrating high culture through concerts and festivals featuring eminent artists. The proprietor, deeply influenced by a Jewish-American ideal of liberty, embarked on a mission to challenge the perception of this ideal as antithetical to high culture within German cultural circles critical of Western civilization. This endeavor led to the organization of "Schloss Elmau Symposia," gathering prominent scholars to explore the historical clash of freedom ideals and the enduring relevance of critiques of Western civilization in Germany, particularly in light of its connection to the Holocaust. Founded by the speaker's grandfather in 1916, Schloss Elmau has historically fostered a critique of Western civilization and individualism, aiming to provide guests with an escape from self through immersive cultural experiences. Following its reconstruction after a fire in 2005, the resort was expanded and redesigned to offer a cosmopolitan luxury experience emphasizing individual freedom and complexity, hosting numerous cultural events annually. Beyond its reputation as a premier spa and member of the Leading Hotels of the World, Schloss Elmau embodies a political commitment to liberty and strengthens ties with Israel and the United States, exemplified by its hosting of two significant and harmonious G7 Summits in 2015 and 2022.

75hr Teacher Training in Barcelona, Spain

75hr Teacher Training in Barcelona, Spain

A few years back I created the curriculum of the 75hr TT. Maybe it’s best to think of it not as a TT but as a way to immerse oneself in what we already enjoy (yoga practice) from the perspective of a teacher. How does one become comfortable with a giving an assist or leading something as simple as Om. Trying to teach something gives us a greater depth of understanding as a student in addition to the foundational skills of teaching. I am honored that Olga has invited me to lead the 75hr TT alongside her and to be assited by Mitch Burnett.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

  • You want to bring your yoga practice to a deeper level.

  • You are interested Satsang, spending time with like-minded people who are interested in yours and their own personal growth.

  • Students who are interested in seeing yoga practice from the teacher’s perspective

  • You are a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher and you need Continuing Education Credits (*availability of CE credits may vary from studio to studio)

  • You are interested in taking the 300-HR Jivamukti Teacher Training, but would like more experience with Jivamukti Yoga and the Jivamukti method before signing up for the 300 HR program.

  • You have taken a 200 hr. Teacher Training elsewhere, and would like to delve deeper into the teachings of yoga and obtain more knowledge about the Jivamukti method.

Limits and Liberation: A Jivamukti Weekend

We have all been touched by the feeling of overwhelm, the sense that there is just too much to do and too little time to do it. This happens most clearly when we do not embrace our limitations. The ability to delve deeply into any topic requires first the ability to embrace our limitations. It is a great gift when we can with an open mind and heart embrace the reality that we have limited time and resources, it gives us the incredible ability to focus on what is important and get the most our of any situation. In a sense we liberate ourselves from everything but what we have focused on.

This weekend begins with a Jivamukti Intensive class (SAT 9:30 - 11:30 AM), where we will explore the core tenets of a yoga practice from the Jivamukti perspective and how we can incorporate them into a wholistic yogic experience.

We will then focus on the seat of movement, our hips, (SAT 14 - 17 PM), where so much emotion can be stored and blocked.

We will end the weekend by moving into the courage required for back bending (SUN 9:00 - 12:00 AM). This weekend will include chanting, meditation, āsana and discussion. Open to all levels.

Continuing Education Workshop – Sequencing

We all know the power of a good sequence of āsana; a sense of clarity, calm, ease in the body and mind, a sense of being prepared for what comes next in life. We begin each journey with the knowledge of where we want to go in an āsana class. When it comes to creating a sequence we may ask ourselves: Is there a peak pose, mood or further practice we preparing for or is this sequence the goal. The answer to these questions will determine when we strengthen or mobilise, pick up the pace or let it settle. This sequencing workshop is for teachers or dedicated students who wish to learn more about the art of sequencing āsana for themselves and others.

With Forward Bending as our theme will focus on:
– 3 regions in the body that need attention and care when forward bending
– 3 categories of forward bending
– Key muscles within each region including direction of muscle fibres, connections to other muscles/ligaments or tendons.
– By the end of the workshop you have key ideas and concepts to create fun and informed sequences for backward bending.
